BIO Acerola & Iron

Acerola is a up to about 3m tall shrub , which presumably originated from Mexico. The acerola cherry, which is also called “cherry of the Antilles”, is known for its exceptionally high content of vitamin C.

Especially the combination with iron reinforces its effects and recording in the cells is improved as well. Iron, which is a component of the red blood cells and hemoglobin (oxygen transporting protein), also contributes to the cognitive function and the normal function of the immune system .
The need for iron is increased for women with menstrual -related blood loss. The uptake of iron by the body, however, is strongly dependent on the presence of resorption – promoting and -inhibiting substances present in the food.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA ) has confirmed that vitamin C increases the non-heme iron absorption. In the capsules only high quality organic acerola extract from controlled biological cultivation is used .
